Hedvig Orsovai, pianist
Hedvig was born in 2003 in Sombor. Since childhood, she has been passionately engaged in composing and playing the piano. She wrote her first piano composition at the age of nine, and a year later the city Sombor released a CD with her first 21 compositions. She regularly participated in the International Piano Competition "Slavenski" in Novi Sad and at the Republic Piano Competition in Belgrade, where she has mostly won first prizes. In 2016, she won first place with the maximum number points at the Republic Competition in Solfeggio in Serbia.
In 2017, she held an author's evening at the City Hall in Novi Sad, and in the same year she was admitted to the Department for Exceptionally Gifted Students at the "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music in Budapest, to the piano department. She continued her education at the "Bartók Béla" Conservatory under the mentorship of Professor Balázs Kecskés. In 2018, she won first prize at the "Danubia Talents" International Piano Competition, as well as first place in her category at the Mezőtúr Composer Competition. In 2021, she won first place at the first International Piano Competition of the Carpathian Basin.
She successfully passed the entrance exam at the "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music, where she is currently studying classical piano in the class of László Borbély and Attila Némethy. In 2023, she won first prizes at two online international competitions: "King's Peak International Music Competition" and "Gustav Mahler International Piano Competition". In 2024, she won second place at the "Wiener Klassik" International Piano Competition in Vienna. She performed in Spain, Austria, Hungary and Serbia. She is currently a first-year master's student at the "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music.
