Marta Hadžimanov is a Serbian soprano, born in Belgrade in 2000 and currently based in Germany.
In 2024 she commenced dual Master’s programs in Opera and Concert/Lied at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, studying under the guidance of Prof. Caroline Melzer. This follows her completion of dual Bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Opera Performance and Music Pedagogy at the same institution, under the tutelage of Prof. Snežana Stamenković.
In May 2025, she performed the title role in G. F. Handel’s Alcina in a staged production by the Opera Studio of the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim, with the university’s Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Maestra Cosima S. Osthoff and stage direction by Prof. Andreas Baesler. Earlier that year, she performed as a featured soloist at the opening ceremony of the St. Sava Ball at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Serbian National Theatre.
She is a prizewinner of the 18th Paula Salomon-Lindberg Competition Das Lied 2024 in Berlin, where she was awarded third prize (with no first prize awarded), and is also the recipient of multiple merit-based scholarships, including the prestigious Deutschlandstipendium. In 2023 she participated in radio recordings of classical and contemporary songs for SWR (Stuttgart) and Deutschlandfunk (Cologne), in collaboration with the artistic patron, Prof. Axel Bauni. That same year, she was invited to participate in the international opera master course Oper Oder Spree, where she received three awards.
As part of this achievement, she made her solo debut at the Berliner Philharmonie in Francis Poulenc’s Gloria, and in the summer of 2024, she portrayed Titania in the innovative staged opera production Dream-Night-Summer after A Midsummer Night’s Dream by W. Shakespeare and music by B. Britten and F. Mendelssohn, as part of the International Opera Festival Oper Oder Spree, Germany.
At the age of just 17, prior to commencing her advanced musical training in Germany, Marta made her professional stage debut, joining the ensemble of the National Musical Theatre “Terazije” in Belgrade, where she performed the lead female role of Christine Daaé in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera for three consecutive seasons. Her artistic development has been further enriched through active participation in masterclasses and workshops with renowned artists such as Lisette Oropesa, Rudolf Piernay, David Bižić, Claudia Visca, Jean-Noël Briend, Snežana Nena Brzaković, and Bernhard Hansky.
