Endre Orsovai, pianist
Endre was born on November 1st, 2000 in Sombor. He started his musical education at the age of six at the "Petar Konjović" Music School. From 2015/2016. He studied in Budapest at the "Bartók Béla" High School of Music at the "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music, in the class of professor Balázs Kecskés. Since 2019, he has been a student of the Music Academy "Franz Liszt" in the class of Gabor Eckhardt and Attila Némethy.
At numerous international and national competitions, he achieved notable results: In 2010, at the Republic Competition "Young Virtuoso" in Belgrade, he won first place with the maximum number of points, as well as the grand prize of the competition. After this success, he was awarded the Commendation of the Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina; In 2011, he won second prize at the "Josip Slavenski" International Piano Competition in Novi Sad; In 2012, he won first prize at the Festival of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia in Smederevo; In 2013, he won second prize at the Republic Competition in Belgrade. In the same year at the 6th International "Slavenski" piano competition with a maximum number of points he won first prize; In 2014, he again won the first prize at the International "Slavenski" piano competition. In 2015, he won second prize at the Republic Competition in Belgrade; In 2016, he won third place at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Budapest. In 2018, he won second place at the State Piano Competition in Bekescsaba; In 2021, he won third place at the "Carl Filtsch" International Piano Competition.
In addition to competitions, Endre has a rich concert career behind him. Some of the more significant performances are: In 2010 he performed in the Concert Hall of the Belgrade Philharmonic, in 2012 in Kolarac, in 2013 in Poland (Siedlce) at the Festival of Young Pianists ("Chopin and Russian Composers"), in 2016 in the Royal Castle in Gedele, in 2017 in London's Wigmore Hall, in 2021 he gave a solo recital in Rome, in the Hungarian Cultural Center, as well as in Capranici (Italy). In 2022, he performed at the Liszt Institute in Zagreb, and in 2023, he gave recitals at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and Ljubljana. In 2024, Endre completed his master's studies at the Academy of Music in Budapest. He is currently a PhD student at the same academy. He further studied at the master classes of Jokut Mihailović, Andras Kemenes, Gergely Boganyi, Rita Wagner, Benedetto Lupo, Jeffrey Cohen, Andrei Diev, Boaz Sharon and Andraš Schiff.
