Goran Bašić is a political scientist and political anthropologist, a scientific advisor, and a long-time researcher of human and minority rights, multiculturalism, and social inclusion. He was the director of the Institute for Social Sciences in Belgrade, Deputy Ombudsman of the Republic of Serbia, and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Council of Europe for the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. He is the founder of the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and the Institute for Social Inclusion, as well as the coordinator of the Academic Network for Cooperation in Southeast Europe – ANCSE.

He is the author of numerous books and scientific papers, and his professional experience combines scientific research, public policy, and human rights protection. His most recently published book, "Traces of Justice: from Cosmopolis to Algorithm," is dedicated to the search for justice in a world increasingly shaped by data and algorithms. In it, the silence of numbers meets values and empathy, without which there can be neither responsible knowledge nor a just society.
